The 0.4.0 Attack Meta
In Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.4.0, Attack-based builds like Pathfinder, Invoker, and Shaman are dominating the ladder. To maximize their DPS, they require a very specific pair of gloves.
The Target Stats:
- Prefixes: 3x Tier 1 Flat Damage (Physical / Fire / Cold / Lightning).
- Suffixes: Tier 1 Attack Speed + Critical Damage + Socketed Item Effect.
- Sockets: 2 Sockets.
Market prices for these gloves range from 400 to 500 Divines. However, using the method detailed below, you can craft them yourself for approximately 100-200 Divines.

🛠️ Crafting Materials
Gather these materials. The key to this craft is the Ancient Rib and the Omen of Light loop.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Crafting Guide
Follow the visual workflow below:
Step 1: The Foundation
Start with a Fractured Base.
- Requirement: Gloves with Tier 1 Attack Speed fractured.
- Why? Attack speed has a very low weighting (spawn rate). Fracturing it first saves massive amounts of currency later.
Step 2: The First Flat Damage
Spam Chaos Orbs.
- Goal: Hit Tier 1 Flat Damage (Physical, Fire, Cold, or Lightning).
- Stop as soon as you hit one T1 Flat mod.
Step 3: The Targeted Slam (Second Flat)
Now we add the second damage mod.
- Apply Omen of Sinistral Exaltation.
- Use a Perfect Exalted Orb.
- Success: You hit a second Tier 1 Flat Damage prefix.
- Fail: You hit a bad prefix.
- Recovery: Use an Orb of Annulment.
- If you annul the bad mod -> Retry Step 3.
- If you annul the T1 Flat from Step 2 -> Go back to Step 2.
Step 4: The Ancient Unveil (Third Flat)
This is the most critical step. We use the Desecration mechanic to force the final damage mod.
- Apply Omen of Sinistral Necromancy.
- Use an Ancient Rib.
- Apply Omen of Abyssal Echoes (Safety net).
- Unveil the Prefix.
- Goal: Unveil the Tier 1 Flat Damage you are missing.
- Why Ancient Rib? Although expensive, Ancient Ribs significantly increase the probability of rolling Tier 1 modifiers compared to standard Ribs/Jawbones. It is mathematically cheaper in the long run.
- Fail Recovery (The Loop):
- If you don't get the mod you want, apply Omen of Light.
- Use an Orb of Annulment.
- This guarantees the removal of the Desecrated mod, allowing you to safely loop this step without risking your other T1 mods.
Step 5: The Double Essence Finisher
Finally, we complete the Suffixes.
- Use Perfect Exalted Orb twice to fill the remaining suffix slots (if not already full).
- Apply Essence of Horror and Essence of Hysteria.
- Note: In Patch 0.4.0, using these corrupted essences on a full-suffix item allows you to replace specific slots to achieve the "100% increased effect of Socketed Items" and "Critical Damage Bonus".
- Result: You now have the ultimate offensive gloves with 3x T1 Damage, Attack Speed, Crit Multi, and Socket Juice.
💡 Pro Tips

Why Fracture Attack Speed? Attempting to roll T1 Attack Speed naturally while also looking for 3 specific Prefixes is statistically almost impossible. Locking it in at the start is the only way to keep this craft under 500 Divines.

Don't Cheap Out on the Rib: Using a normal Preserved Rib might seem cheaper, but the weight for T1 Damage unveils is terrible. You will spend more on Omens of Light and Annuls than you save. Stick to the Ancient Rib.
