Tribute is the currency you earn and spend within the Ritual mechanic. More than half of any poe2 ritual strategy revolves around maximizing your Tribute or increasing its purchasing power.

The amount of Tribute you gain is directly related to the native monster packs in the Ritual circle. It is not affected by your clear speed.

Monster Pack Size (Very Important): More monsters = more Tribute.

2. Area Level (The Quality of Rewards)

Area Level is critical as it determines the pool of available rewards. There are two major thresholds you must aim for:

3. Reduced Deferral Cost (The Core "0 Cost" Strategy)

The ability to poe2 defer items allows you to see them again in future Rituals at a reduced cost. The most powerful strategy in the current version is to achieve 0 Deferral Cost.

This allows you to defer every single reward for free, guaranteeing you can buy all high-value items, Omens, and currency that appear.

How to Achieve 0 Deferral Cost: You need a specific combination of passive skills and Tablet modifiers to reach 100% reduced cost.

Allocate 4 points in the Atlas Passive "8% increased Effect of Precursor Tablet Explicit Modifiers" (for a total of 32% effect).
Allocate the Ritual Atlas Passive "Promised Devotion" (which provides a base 35% reduced deferral cost).
On your Tablets, stack the modifier "Deferring Favours at Ritual Altars in your Maps costs (20–30)% reduced Tribute" until the combined total reaches at least 39%.

Warning: The "Freedom of Faith" Legendary Tablet increases deferral cost. If you use this tablet (e.g., for +15% cost), you must stack 39% + 15% = 54% reduced cost from your other Tablets to compensate.

4. Reroll Count (More Chances to Win)

The more rerolls you have, the more rewards you will see. This is simple, but how the rerolls stack is important.

You get 1 base reroll.
Ritual Atlas Passives can grant +1 reroll.
These two rerolls can be doubled by a Legendary Tablet.
The Tablet suffix "Ritual Altars in your Maps allow rerolling Favours an additional time" provides rerolls that can be doubled by both Legendary Tablets and the "Remnants of Power" Atlas Passive.
Note: The doubling effects from multiple Legendary Tablets do not stack with each other.

5. Reduced Reroll Cost (The Enabler)

As you stack more Reroll Counts, your Tribute will be strained. Reducing the cost of each reroll is essential to see all those extra reward windows. This mechanic can also be stacked to 100% for free rerolls.

How to Achieve 0 Reroll Cost:

Allocate 4 points in the Atlas Passive "8% increased Effect of Precursor Tablet Explicit Modifiers" (32% total effect).
Allocate the Ritual Atlas Passive "Tempting Offers" (which provides a base 35% reduced reroll cost).
On your Tablets, stack the modifier "Favours Rerolled at Ritual Altars in your Maps have (3–6)% chance to cost no Tribute" until the combined total reaches at least 58%.

6. Omen Chance (The Final Polish)

After you have optimized your Tribute, Area Level, Deferrals, and Rerolls, you can add a final layer of quality. Ritual Favours are not affected by your character's IIR or IIQ.

The only way to improve the quality of items offered (besides Area Level) is the Tablet modifier: "Ritual Favours in your Maps have (25–70)% increased chance to be Omens". This is an excellent modifier to stack once your core strategy is in place.
