Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.4.0 is here, and Abyss has been crowned the absolute king of farming mechanics (Reference: Our Early Map Farming Guide).
Everyone wants to run Abyss, which means everyone needs Abyss Precursor Tablets.
This guide is for players who have a small budget (a few Chaos or Divines) but want to scale up to 20-30 Divines quickly. Instead of competing in the difficult maps, we will supply the "ammunition" for the top farmers.
🎯 Identifying Value: What Sells?
Before we craft, we must know what the rich players are looking for. They want density and more monsters.

Key Modifiers to look for:
- +1 Additional Pit
- % Increased Rare Monsters in Abyss
- % Increased Monsters Effectiveness
The Market Math:
- 2 Good Mods: Sells for 3-5 Chaos.
- 3 Good Mods: Sells for 15-20 Chaos.
- 4 Good Mods (God Roll): Sells for Divines.
Your crafting cost is typically less than 1 Chaos (mostly Orb of Transmutation/Augmentation). The profit margin is massive.
🛠️ The Crafting Process: Precision over Spamming
Most players lazily use an Orb of Alchemy on a white tablet. This is inefficient. We use a controlled method to maximize profit and save currency.
Step 1: Bulk Buy
Buy 20-50 Normal (White) Abyss Precursor Tablets. They are usually extremely cheap.
Step 2: The Transmute Method (The Secret)
Instead of making it Rare immediately, we start with Magic.
- Use an Orb of Transmutation.
- Use an Orb of Augmentation.
- Check the Mods:
- Scenario A (Hit): Did you hit 1 or 2 of the valuable mods listed above?
- Action: Use a Regal Orb to upgrade it to Rare.
- Follow-up: If the Regal adds a decent mod, use an Exalted Orb to finish it.
- Result: A high-value tablet ready for market.
- Scenario B (Miss): Did you get useless mods (like light radius)?
- Action: Use an Orb of Scouring (if Scours are cheap) OR just vendor it.
- Scenario A (Hit): Did you hit 1 or 2 of the valuable mods listed above?
Step 3: The Recovery (The Alch Slam)
If you are feeling lazy or Scouring orbs are too expensive:
- Take the failed Magic tablet.
- Use an Orb of Alchemy (or Chaos Orb if you have many).
- Check: Did it roll into a 4-mod Rare with good stats?
- Yes: Sell it.
- No: Vendor it or save for "5-to-1" recipe.
📊 Why This Works
This method is superior to just spamming Alchemy orbs because the Orb of Augmentation allows you to "fish" for the best mods (like +1 Pit) at almost zero cost.
- Investment: ~50 Chaos (for bulk tablets and currency).
- Expected Return: ~300-500 Chaos (conservative estimate).
Stop running maps for pennies. Start crafting tablets for the 1%ers and watch your stash grow.
